Hello
We strive to be your partner regardless if you bought your hot tub or swim spa with us, and although we cant speak to the specifics of other tubs besides ours, we can help provide some general guidance on maintaining or correcting your hot tub maintenance program.
Opening your Tub
-
Fill your new hot tub through the filter holster to ensure water is flowing through the heater and pumps
-
Once your tub is above the highest jets you can flip it on and allow it to cycle (purge) the lines
-
Grab your 7 way test strips and test and adjust the total alkalinity, calcium hardness and pH of the water
-
Sanitize with a Chlorinating Sanitizer, sprinkle over the surface of circulating water or insert your Frog inline cartridge
-
Measure and adjust the free available chorine (FAC). An ideal range is 4-5ppm (part per million)
Typically these are the gallons per person size hot tub:
2-3 person 150-200 gallons
4-6 person 300-450 gallons
7-8 person 475-650 gallons
Adjust as needed based on the directions of each product and your result on your test strip.
Maintenance

FAQ - More to come as you ask

How do I adjust for cloudy water
-
First check your chemical levels, ensure your PH and total alkalinity are within the test strip recommended range before shocking or sanitizing your tub. Once balanced, shock your tub and turn your pumps on to circulate the particles through your filter.
-
Ensure your chlorine levels are keeping up with your use and outside influences such as oils and lotions, etc. Most likely you are under your chlorine level and need to increase your floater or Frog setting.
-
Rinse your filter, if you have done the above and it is not clear in the next 24-36 hours your filter might be clogged and needs to be rinsed. Simply pull it from the holster and spray it with your garden hose. A milky like fluid would indicate a full filter

My Hot tub is not responding well to the chemicals
-
The water can become saturated and will break down chemicals slower and slower over time. This timeframe is based on use and the oils, lotions and other outside chemicals you bring in with you and the amount of chemicals you use to balance your water. A replacement of your water refreshes your balance and provide a quick dissolving environment in your tub. This can happen as early as 4-6 months with heavy use but generally replacing your water at least every year would be recommended.

My Hot tub is colder then my set limit
-
This happens when your tub gets placed into "rest" mode rather then "ready." In rest the temperature is only checked on a filter cycle and will heat up as needed at that time only which is typically 2x per day. In ready mode the hot tub will pull a temp every 45 minutes making it rare you are ever more then a degree or two off from your set point. To adjust, go to your "mode" setting and switch to "ready" or on the push button model, move from the IR to R.
